JOB OPENING: IT Officer
Roots of Health is looking for an IT Officer. Reporting to the HR and Admin Director, this position will be part of the Admin Team and will play a key role in supporting the entire organization. The IT Officer will assist UNK staff in ensuring the effective and timely provision of IT support, particularly in the management of critical database systems including clinic databases and other related platforms. In addition, the IT Officer will provide day-to-day technical support within the office to ensure smooth and efficient operations for all UNK staff.
This is a full-time position in Puerto Princesa City with a probation period up to six months, depending on performance. Salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include PhilHealth, SSS, Pagibig, health insurance, 10 paid vacation days, 10 paid sick leave days, 1 day birthday leave, 5 paid leave days for Holy Week, and 10 days paid leave between Christmas and New Year, and 1 paid leave for the APE.
Responsibilities
The IT Officer responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Technical Support: Provide hands-on technical support to staff members, assisting with hardware, software, network, and other IT-related issues.
- IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure, including laptops, printers, network devices, and other technology equipment.
- Cloud Services Administration: Support in the management and provision of user accounts of cloud services such as Google Workspace, Trello, and also of the WordPress websites hosted in a third-party hosting.
- Web Database Administration: Support in administering and maintaining the customized web database used for clinical data, ensuring data security and system integrity.
- IT Procurement and Inventory: Collaborate with the procurement team to identify and purchase necessary IT equipment and software licenses. Support in updating inventory of IT assets.
- Data Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implement and maintain regular data backup procedures to ensure the availability and integrity of critical data. Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
- IT Security: Establish and enforce security protocols, including user access management, data encryption, and vulnerability assessments. Stay updated on the latest IT security trends and implement appropriate measures.
- User Training and Documentation: Conduct IT training sessions for staff members and partner beneficiaries, ensuring they are proficient in using IT systems and tools. Create and maintain IT documentation and guides.
- Data Solutions Development: Assisting the development of data and software solutions
- Data Management: Support in processing data of IT services provided to partner LGUs, including cleaning, storage, and migration
- Website Management and Development: Maintaining the organization’s websites and assisting with the development of new sites
- Systems Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor system performance and generate periodic reports on system health, usage trends, and service issues to inform decision-making.
- IT Policy and Compliance: Assist in developing, revising and enforcing IT-related policies to ensure organizational compliance with data protection regulations and best practices.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- University degree in a related field (Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field)
- Deep understanding of Windows and Android operating systems
- Experience in data maintenance, database management and analysis of data
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with staff members at all levels and explain technical concepts in a user-friendly manner.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identify and resolve IT issues. Ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Organization and Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
- Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across different departments and provide support as needed.
- Commitment to Confidentiality: Respect for the sensitivity of clinical data and adherence to strict privacy and confidentiality protocols.

- Knowledge of SQL and Appscript
