JOB OPENING: HIV Program Coordinator
Roots of Health is seeking an HIV Program Coordinator. Reporting to the HIV Programs Manager, the HIV Program Coordinator supports the day-to-day implementation of Roots of Health’s HIV prevention and stigma-reduction initiatives. This role works closely with the HIV team and cross-functional teams (MEL, Media, Finance, and Admin) to coordinate activities, manage partnerships, support training delivery, and ensure programs are implemented on time, within budget, and in line with donor requirements.
This is a full-time position in Puerto Princesa City with a probation period up to six months, depending on performance. Salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include PhilHealth, SSS, Pagibig, health insurance, 10 paid vacation days, 10 paid sick leave days, 5 paid leave for Holy Week, and 10 days paid leave between Christmas and New Year, 1 birthday leave, and 1 paid leave for the APE.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Program Implementation
- Coordinate day-to-day activities for HIV prevention, testing, and stigma-reduction programs
- Support rollout of training (e.g., Peer Education Training, Community-based HIV Screening Training, etc.)
- Track project milestones and flag delays or bottlenecks to the Program Manager or Program Director
Partnership & Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as a point of contact for local partners, including LGUs, Provincial/City/Municipal Health Offices, and community-based organizations
- Help organize and participate in kick-off meetings, partner check-ins, and community engagement activities.
Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
- Work with MEL team to track project indicators and ensure timely, accurate data collection
- Maintain organized documentation of program materials and partner communications
Administrative & Logistics Support
- Coordinate logistics for trainings, workshops, and community events (venues, materials, participant lists)
- Support budget tracking and liaise with the Finance team on program-related expenses
- Assist with procurement and supply needs for program activities.
- Perform other necessary duties as assigned, that are well within the skills and physician capability
Job Qualifications
- A university degree is preferred; however, candidates with a high school diploma who meet the experience and skill requirements are also encouraged to apply.
- Desirable qualifications include HIV-related training and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Demonstrated experience in client-centered support, health or social service coordination, and/or work with vulnerable populations.
- Training in community-based HIV screening and counseling is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, community-based setting.
- Familiarity with the Palawan context and fluency in Filipino; ability to speak Cuyonon [or any Indigenous Palawan language] is a plus.
