John Danver Tambiao Paalan (Danver) is a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Manager at Roots of Health. Danver provides support for the implementation of the organization’s M&E strategy and the development of proposals for M&E indicators and targets. He also outlines M&E systems for data collection, targeting and tracking indicators, knowledge management, impact assessments, learning activities, and donor reports. He also plays a vital role in the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Puerto Princesa City, as he oversees the implementation of the Vaccine Information Management System (VIMS).
Prior to his promotion to M&E Manager, Danver worked as an M&E Officer for Roots of Health. He was responsible for collecting data from Roots of Health’s programs and services, compiling information into a logical order, and assisting with the overall analysis.
He also worked as a Youth Advocate for Roots of Health. During his tenure as a Youth Advocate, Danver worked to increase awareness about teen pregnancy, pregnancy prevention, and general reproductive health. Danver worked in barangays across the island of Palawan to spread awareness and provide information about reproductive health.
Danver holds a Management Accounting degree from Palawan State University, and he has found the skills and knowledge from his degree to be very applicable to his current role.
